Andrew Smith's Science Festival & Museum Workshop

We have a number of Minibeast Workshops, which over the years we have developed specifically for science festivals and museum events - where the audience is often made up of widely mixed age groups and large numbers can be involved. We can promise you that with twenty two years of teaching experience behind him, Andrew will swiftly settle them down and hold them enthralled for one full hour with a host of fascinating animals. These workshops are designed to be entertaining but also genuine science from a man who knows his stuff!

The only thing that we ask of the organisers (other than parking) is that we must be able to heat the area during the winter months. We are tropical - we do not do cold and the health of our animals can be placed in jeopardy if they get cold!

Obviously if the audience is small (thirty children) and approximately the same age group, we can undertake any of the science workshops that are listed in the Minibeast Workshop section of the website.

Over the years Andrew has undertaken science workshops for the British Association of Science at Imperial College, Manchester University and Exeter University and he can be regularly seen at Horniman Museum.

Andrew can also be found twice yearly at the Kent Festival of Science - which takes place in February half term and October half term at Canterbury College and Maidstone Girls Grammar School. For more details Google - Kent Festival of Science. Prices - depending on distance are usually £200/£250 per day. For non commutable distances accommodation is expected. Central London Museums - £170 for the day.
